Refresh the Guide (EPG) on the Mainstream Firestick App
Every so often, you may notice that the TV Guide is blank, missing information, or fails to fully load in the Mainstream app.
Fortunately, repopulating your TV Guide is a very easy and straightforward process. Let’s get to it.
Step 1: Open Settings
From inside the Mainstream app, go to Settings.
Step 2: Select TV Guide (EPG)
Inside Settings, find and select:
TV Guide (EPG)
Step 3: Refresh the TV Guide
Select:
Refresh TV Guide
The app will begin downloading and repopulating the TV Guide information.
IMPORTANT: Allow approximately 4 minutes for the TV Guide to fully populate.
Do not exit the app while the guide is refreshing.
Step 4: Wait for the Refresh to Finish
You will know the TV Guide refresh is complete when the information at the bottom of the screen changes and displays the number of TV channels that were refreshed.
Once you see the channel count at the bottom, the TV Guide refresh has completed.
Step 5: Refresh Live TV — IMPORTANT
There is one final step that must be completed.
Return to the Mainstream Dashboard/Home Screen, where you see:
Live TV | Movies | Series
Refresh your Live TV from this screen.
This final refresh allows the newly downloaded TV Guide information to properly load with your Live TV channels.
Step 6: Open Live TV
Once Live TV has finished refreshing, go back into Live TV.
Your TV Guide (EPG) should now be refreshed and displaying the current program information.
Quick Reminder
Settings → TV Guide (EPG) → Refresh TV Guide → Wait approximately 4 minutes → Confirm channel count → Return to Dashboard → Refresh Live TV → Open Live TV
Do not skip the Live TV refresh. This is the final step needed for the refreshed TV Guide information to properly appear.
